  1. The first part of this session is devoted to the skills of cutting glass. You will be learning how to cut inside curves, outside curves, straight lines, strip cutting and more.
  2. Your first project will be a small suncatcher made from stained glass. You will be cutting the glass from the pattern, shaping the design.
  3. Next you will be piecing the glass together with lead cames and, lastly soldering it all together!
  4. From this you will have learned about: Glass Cutters, Grozing Pliers, Running Pliers, Soldering Irons, Solder, Solder Fluxes, Grinders, etc.

.: 2nd Class:

I have selected 10 easy patterns for you to choose from. Your window will be constructed using the copper foil method. This technique, a Tiffany invention, is the wrapping of each piece of glass in copper. Then, a bead of solder is ran down the entire foiled seam. The copper foil technique allows for greater detail and easy construction.

The supplies for this project include: Pattern, 1 36 yard roll of copper foil, Solder Flux, 1 lb. 60/40 Solder, Glass, and other miscellaneous supplies.

Cost for this project is approximately $40.00. Students are required to purchase the tools at the kit price of $150.00.

This project may take 3 sessions to complete, depending on your skill level.

The total cost of the course will depend on how aggressive you are!
